Pyörällä uimarannalle - A vélo à la plage

Ihana päivä aloittaa pyöräilykausi! Pakkasin lapsen ja eväät mukaan, ja lähdimme tarkistamaan merenrantamaisemien tämänhetkistä tilaa. Viimeksi käydessäni meri oli vielä jäässä, mutta nyt näytti jo kovin kesäiseltä. Näimme paljon vesilintuja, muutaman auringonottajan ja jopa pari vanhaa naista kävi uimassa. Taisivat olla niitä, jotka uivat ympäri vuoden.

Retkieväät maistuivat tietysti hyviltä, vaikka yksinkertaisia olivatkin: kinkkujuustoleipää, kurkkua, tomaattia, keitettyjä munia, oliiveja ja vettä. Söimme ne matkan varrella yleisellä laiturilla, josta näki vastapäisen saaren kreikkalaisen temppelin (sic!).

Lopulta päädyimme uimarannalle, jossa minä jatkoin miehen villapaidan neulomista, ja tytär leikki vesirajassa. Halusi kastella varpaatkin, mutta valitti, että kylmää oli.

Nämä maisemat muistuttavat kovasti lapsuuteni maisemia pienessä merenrantakaupungissa. Siksi näitä pitää säännöllisesti käydä ihastelemassa.

Un jour parfait pour commencer à aller à vélo. J'ai pris l'enfant et du crasse-crôute avec moi et on est parti pour voir comment la vue sur la mer a changé. La fois dernière que j'ai passé par là, la mer était encore couverte de grace, mais maintenant c'est presque comme en été. On a vu pas mal d'oiseaux aquatiques, quelques personnes qui se bronzaient et deux vieilles dames qui ont vite nagé. Elles doivent être celles qui nagent toute l'année.

Notre casse-crôute était bon mais très simple : des sandwichs au jambon et au fromage, du concombre, des tomates, des oeufs durs, des olives et de l'eau. On en a mangé sur un ponton en route, d'où on pouvait voir un temple grec (sic!) sur une île d'en face.


Enfin, nous sommes allées à la plage, où j'ai continué à tricoter le pull noir pour mon mari et où ma petite a bien profité de temps en jouant au bord de l'eau. Elle a même voulu être pieds nus, mais elle se plaingnait que la mer soit froid.

Ces vues ressemblent à celles de mon enfance dans une petite ville au bord de la mer. C'est pour ça qu'il me faut y aller régulièrement.

What a wonderful day to start biking again!
I took the kid and a packed lunch with me and off we went to check out how the coast line looked like at this stage of the season. The last time I was there the sea was covered with ice but now everything looked almost like in summer. We saw quite many water birds, some people tanning themselves and even two elderly ladies taking a short swim. They must have been those who swim throughout the whole year.

Our packed lunch tasted good even though it was very simple: ham and cheese sandwiches, cucumber, tomatoes, boiled eggs, olives and water. We had them on a small wooden pier from where we could see a Greek temple on the opposite islet (yes, that’s right!).

Finally, we ended up on a beach where I continued to knit the black pullover for my husband and my little daughter played by the waterfront. She wanted even to put her toes in the water and then complained it was cold.

These views remind me of those in a little coastal town where I lived my childhood and youth. That’s why I need to go and see regularly the sea here as well.
